Sponsored by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's State Coverage Initiatives (SCI) program, this meeting was intended for state officials, including governors' health policy advisors, and Medicaid and SCHIP directors, to discuss strategies to maintain enrollment and funding for existing programs in light of present economic challenges. State participants had the opportunity to discuss with each other and with federal officials and national experts how to take advantage of new waiver flexibility, how to maintain coverage programs at current eligibility and enrollment levels, and how to control prescription drug costs.
