In 2003, New Mexico received HRSA SPG funds to research the uninsured. In support of the 2005 legislative session, the HRSA grant will include the following data collection activities:
- Household Survey
- Non-profit Employer Survey
- Actuarial Analysis of Coverage Options
- Department of Insurance Data Mining Project
- General Services Division/Risk Management Division Survey, targeted to state employees who decline coverage
In addition, New Mexico was awarded a HRSA pilot planning project grant in 2005. The pilot will allow the New Mexico Human Services Department to work together with the Governor's Insure New Mexico Council to develop of new coverage options based on the employer system blending public and private programs.
