In 2002, the Wyoming Department of Health received a HRSA SPG to research the uninsured and create a set of policy options that provide access to affordable health insurance. Several of the options considered by the grant team have been implemented or are currently under study.
- In 2003, Wyoming increased Kid Care CHIP eligibility from 133 percent FPL to 185 percent FPL.
- In 2005, Wyoming increased Kid Care CHIP eligibility from 185 percent to 200 percent FPL.
- Wyoming is studying the possibility of establishing a purchasing cooperative called WYO CARE.
