Massachusetts Governor Proposes
Major Health Care Reform On June
21, Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney (R) unveiled a health
care reform proposal that seeks to provide access to health
insurance coverage to the 460,000 uninsured in the state. The
reform proposal focuses on market solutions and personal
responsibility to provide affordable comprehensive care to

Vermont Governor Vetoes Health Care
Bill At the end of the 2005
legislative session, the Vermont Legislature passed H. 524.
Called Green Mountain Health, the bill would have provided
primary and preventive services to the uninsured. [view

GAO Releases Report on Medicaid
Financing Practices On June 28, the
Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a new report
that examined Medicaid financing practices. Specifically, the
report looked at states' efforts to maximize federal

has been released by the HCFO initiative, a Robert Wood
